Live Performance with 16-25 Participants
Adapted from the video work FOLD

Fold [Live] brings the quiet intimacy of folding laundry into the public sphere—multiplying a solitary act across a group of performers in choreographed unison. Performed by 16 to 25 participants, each following a rhythmic folding routine, the piece transforms a private ritual into a collective choreography.

This work emerged from my video piece FOLD, moving from the screen to the body, from digital repetition to live resonance.

Drawing on rhythmic patterning systems from Indian classical music (Taal), the performance explores how repetition accumulates meaning over time—and how the individual and collective pulse together in everyday acts.

Presented in open, flowing environments, Fold [Live] invites audiences to witness subtle synchronicities and quiet labor. It is a meditation on time, gesture, and the shared architectures of daily life.
